Attention Candidates: Strict adherence to the new timings is mandatory. No candidate will be allowed entry under any circumstances after the closure of the gates.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued a critical notice modifying the entry rules for candidates appearing in the upcoming Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026.
Key Changes to Note:
- Gate Closure Time: Entry into the examination venue shall be closed 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the examination for each session. Previously, it was 10 minutes.
- Photograph on E-Admit Card: Candidates whose photographs on the e-Admit Card are not clear must bring two identical passport-size photographs along with an original Photo ID proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.).
- Banned Items: The possession of mobile phones, smartwatches, or any electronic communication device, even in switched-off mode, is strictly prohibited within the premises of the examination center.
- Black Ball Point Pen: Candidates are allowed to use ONLY a Black Ball Point Pen for making entries in the OMR Answer Sheet/Test Booklet.
Candidates are strongly advised to visit their exam venues a day in advance to familiarize themselves with the location and transit time.
